Step Out Transitional Housing

Step Out Transitional Housing is a collaborative effort between SCHARP and A Community of Friends to provide a transitional independent living program for former foster and probation youth ages 18-20. In partnership with DCFS, DMH and Probation, Step Out provides a range of services  including individual and group therapy, medication support,  intensive case management, life skills practice and assistance in identifying options for permanent housing. Step Out staff work hand in hand with youth to develop skills to increase their competency surrounding, work, school, finances, transportation and personal care with the goal of moving towards being independent, self sustaining and healthy.
