SCHARP (Southern California Health And Rehabilitation Program) is looking to hire a new Billing Clerk for our office. Please read details to learn more about this job opportunity.

Computer literate; demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications
Demonstrated ability to utilize an electronic clinical management system
Exceptional organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to learn quickly
Ensures correct pay sources are created, set-up and changes are completed, reviewed and submits client data to county systems as appropriate.
Provides assistance to support services for the Financial Screening Process.
Follows HIPAA policies.
Performs specialized medical billing claims resolution. Organizes, updates, and continuously proofs data entry making corrections as needed.
Follow-up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframes.
Post insurance company payments in electronic health records, and resolve denied claims.
Generates reports for review as required or requested by Billing Supervisor

Minimum of two (2) years DMH billing experience required
SPECIAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Working knowledge of state, federal, and third party claims processing required
Knowledge of an Electronic Health Record System (EHRS) used in Healthcare for billing clinical services preferred; preferably in Behavioral Healthcare
Ability and willingness to learn new topics, systems, and methods.
Ability to adapt and be flexible in a rapidly changing environment, be patient, accountable, proactive, take initiative and be a team player and work effectively on a team.
Associates Degree in Finance, Business or two years revenue cycle experience preferred
